What We Do
  • Our kinesiologists work with the patient on treatment plans focused on getting patients moving, building/regaining endurance, strength, balance, flexibility, and reducing fear of movement
  • Education on impacts of exercise on the individual’s persistent pain

  • Weigh patients nor use weight as an indicator of health

  • Physiotherapy
  • Support high-frequency appointments (weekly or biweekly)
    • Adequate time is needed between appointments to assess efficacy of exercise plan
Screening

Unrestricted Exercise or Physical Activity

  • Stable Health Conditions
    • With BP meds – <160/100
    • Without BP meds – <144/94
    • Shortness of breath with overexertion
Progressive Exercise with Avoidance of Examples
  • Lifting limitations – post surgical/injury
  • High impact
  • Vigorous exercise

Not Appropriate

  • Resting BP <161/101
    • RHR >99bpm
    • O2 saturation: level should be above 90%
    • Unexplained shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pain
    • Acute injuryUnstable health conditions
